CareAI Emergency Statement (English)
Effective date: 2026-01-22
Version: 1.1
Last Updated: January 22, 2026
Governing Language: In case of discrepancy between translations, the English version prevails.
CareAI may provide reminders, alerts, SOS-related tools, and distress signal detection features. However:
Important
- CareAI is not an emergency service.
- CareAI cannot guarantee delivery of alerts due to network conditions, device settings, permissions, or third-party dependencies.
- You must not rely on CareAI as the sole method for requesting emergency help.
- Distress signal detection is not guaranteed. CareAI's distress detection features are provided on a "best effort" basis and may fail to detect all distress signals or may produce false positives or false negatives.
- Escalation notifications are not guaranteed. Notifications to care team members (guardians, doctors) may be delayed or fail due to technical limitations beyond our control.
What to do in an emergency
If you believe there is an emergency:
- Call your local emergency number immediately (e.g., 911, 112, or your local emergency number).
- Do not wait for CareAI's detection or notification features. Emergency situations require immediate professional medical attention.
- Seek help from nearby people if possible.
- Do not rely on CareAI to contact emergency services on your behalf.
Distress signal detection limitations
CareAI may include features that attempt to detect distress signals or safety concerns in chat conversations. These features have significant limitations:
- No guarantee of detection: We do not guarantee that all distress signals will be detected. Detection may fail due to:
- Language variations and context
- Technical limitations of detection algorithms
- Network connectivity issues
- Device or app malfunctions
- No guarantee of accuracy: Detected signals may be false positives or false negatives. The detection system is not a substitute for professional mental health assessment or emergency services.
- No guarantee of response time: Even if a distress signal is detected, we do not guarantee that notifications will be delivered immediately or that care team members will respond in a timely manner.
Escalation to care team
If distress signals are detected, CareAI may attempt to notify linked Guardians or Doctors. However:
- Notifications may be delayed due to network connectivity, device issues, app permissions, or other technical limitations.
- Notifications may fail to deliver due to technical issues beyond our control.
- We do not guarantee that linked Guardians or Doctors will receive, read, or respond to notifications in a timely manner or at all.
- Escalation does not replace emergency services. Even if care team members are notified, you should still call emergency services immediately in any emergency situation.
Best practices
- Always have your local emergency number readily available.
- Do not disable emergency calling features on your device.
- Test your device's emergency calling capability regularly.
- Inform your care team members about your emergency preferences and contacts.
- Do not rely solely on CareAI for emergency situations.
